Bakery Shift Leader/Manager



This role offers a basic annual salary is £28,000 - £32,000 per year (DOE) 45-hour per week, straight shifts.



The position is available for an immediate start.



The bakery is in a picturesque rural location, you must have a mode of transport as there are no Public transport links.



The ideal candidate will:


Lead the Bakery Team of five and manage daily bakery production.
Coordinate all food manufacture, and all specific duties to bakery staff under their supervision.
Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as bread, brownies, cakes, artisan toasts & savoury rounds.
Ensure minimum PAR levels are maintained of all baked items.
Ensure consistently high quality and operational standards.
Knowledge of HACCP general health & safety in the workplace.
Test ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls.
Clean and restock workstations and ensure that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
Direct pre-shift briefings and ensure effective team communication.
Manage stock control, production yields and food margins.
Develop standardized recipes, operating procedures, production methods for the bakery area. Keep records relating to deliveries, inventory and production levels.
Monitor back stock conditions.
Requisition supply items from storerooms as needed.
Ensure the food cost(s) of the Bakery are in line with Kitchen Operating Budget and Kitchen Energy Costs.
Devise new and innovative presentations and recipes for baked items.
Be involved with design & improvement of recipes.
Develop a positive customer interface through taking client information and ensure that deliveries are fulfilled accurately and on time, in full.
Support the Operations Manager in the recruitment, induction and onboarding of any new Bakery Team members.
Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
