This lively award-winning gastro pub is currently seeking a creative and innovative Sous Chef to assist with the running of this busy, fast paced kitchen. It is an independent business, and very much a destination venue with a superb restaurant.

You should therefore have a real interest in current food trends and working with fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce. There is a brigade of 4 chefs preparing modern British cuisine with European influences.

There is a kitchen garden where they grow some of their own vegetables, fruit, and herbs and have linked with an estate locally who also provide a range of produce. They also encourage foraging so they can create a regularly changing menu, highlighting the seasonal changes.

As Sous Chef you will have full responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef and assist with designing menus, sourcing suppliers, stock control, ordering and training and motivating your team. Alongside this the ideal candidate will have good business acumen and excellent man- management skills.

It is a live out position and due to the pub’s rural location, you would require your own transport, although you are only a few miles from a large town, with excellent amenities.
